Guide for AMSS Unified Authentication System

 

We have deployed a Unified Authentication (UA) system at AMSS. In the future, all private resources at AMSS will be integrated with it. Users will be able to access these resources with a single UA account.

 

Sometimes we call the UA account as Single Sign On (SSO) account, too. They are the same.

 

If you encountered any problems while registration or login, please find whether there are solutions in section 3 (FAQ) first.

 

If you already have an AMSS email account (in the form of name@ihep.ac.cn), please go to section 2 (Fill in Your Information).

 

1          Register a New UA Account

1.1         The web URL for registration:  https://login.amss.ac.cn/regist.jsp

1.2         If there are any unreadable characters in your browser, please click the language switch button at the top right corner of the web, or else your registration might be failed.

1.3         Fill out the registration form.

 

Note:

n  Please select your “Home Institute” in the dropdown list if it exists.

n  Keep the “Collaboration” field empty if you do not belong to any collaboration in the dropdown list.

n  You can select more than 1 collaboration by clicking the “More” button.

 

2          Fill in Your Information

You can login the UA system to add/update your personal information.

If you already have an AMSS email account, please login with your email address and password directly. Then your email account will be synchronized into the UA system.

2.1         Login the UA system:  https://login.amss.ac.cn/login

2.2         Add/Update your personal information following the link of “Profile” and “Personal information”.

2.3         If you are a staff of AMSS, or a member of a HEP Collaboration (BESIII, JUNO, and more will be added), please apply for your membership authorization following the link of “Profile” and “Group information”.

 

3          FAQ

l  Why can’t I register a UA account successfully?

Please switch the language settings and try again, as described in section 1.2.

 

l  I have an AMSS email account. Why can’t I use it as a “Single Sign On” account?

AMSS email account is not UA/SSO account. It will be synchronized at the first time you login the UA system.

 

l  I have a UA/SSO account, and I am a BES3 member. Why can’t I access the BES3 DocDB/HyperNews?

1st, please make sure you have applied for the BES3 membership authorization in the UA system, as described in section 2.3.

2nd, the group application has to be verified by the group manager manually. This may take 1 or 2 days. Please be patient before you are accepted.
